Pollino Doc

The production area is located between the towns of Castrovillari, Saracena, Cassano to the Ionian Sea, Civita, Frascineto and San Basile in surrounding areas of the Mount Pollino in the province of Cosenza or as described by Dutch scholar Vandermersch in the Calabrian Citra Triangle. It’s a pale ruby ​​red wine, with intense flavour and an aroma that reminiscent black currants and plums. Its flavour is characterised by being dry, warm, tannic and quite tasty. The type “superior”, according to its specification has an alcoholic strength by volume of 13% (as opposed to 12.5% ​​of the basic version), and should be consumed within four years after the harvest and classified as a top red wine to drink with meals.
