Sta. Ann from Capo Rizzuto Island

Is a wine considered to be of high-quality and very much appreciated. Is so good that entertained for a good six months the Emperor of Isola Capo Rizzuto Federico Barbarossa. The wine was exported to Crete and to Egypt. The vine culture then flourished with the Benedictine monks whom in this part of Calabria built several monasteries. The varieties in which is produced are the Red and Rosé which are produced from the grapes Gaglioppo, Nocera, Nerello Mascalese, Nerello Cappuccio, Malvasia Bianca, Malvasia Nera and Greco bianco. The colour of both wines are more or less intense, the aromas are sharp, dry and harmonious. The minimum strength 12°.
